Adrienne Gale is a printmaker, papermaker, fiber artist, and book artist.
Adrienne's art deals with language, specifically etymology and the connections that exist between words through their histories. Using her own visual symbols of trees, roots, seeds, and nests, Adrienne explores language in a variety of media.
Originally from Connecticut, Adrienne now works and resides in Venice, Italy where she is the 2006-2008 Fellow at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica. Adrienne received her MFA in Book Arts/Printmaking from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and her BFA in Painting from Boston University. In addition to focusing on her own art at the Scuola, Adrienne teaches book arts and printmaking to students from such institutions as Boston University, Connecticut College, and Indiana University, she runs the Galleria Sotoportego, curating and coordinating the shows there, and she facilitates the Visiting Artist/Resident Artist program.
